By car: Todmorden can be reached from the M62, M1, M6 and M65. From the M62 eastbound leave at junction 21 and junction 24 westbound. From the M65 leave at junctions 9, 10 or 11.

Todmorden Town Hall

Todmorden Town Hall was once situated in both Lancashire and Yorkshire until the county boundary was moved on in 1888. The Grade 1 listed building was gifted to the people of Todmorden by the Fielden family in 1891, and holds a special place in the hearts of local people. The Town Hall is wheelchair accessible with disabled toilets and a lift to the main hall.

Hippodrome Theatre

Todmorden Hippodrome Theatre opened in 1908 and has been an integral part of the community for over a hundred years. The theatre has a varied and dynamic programme and is run by a team of dedicated volunteers. The Hippodrome is located in the centre of the town. St Mary’s Church

St Mary’s Church is the oldest church in Todmorden and a Grade II listed building. The church is the hub of many activities in the town and is wheelchair accessible.

Todmorden Community College

The community-owned Todmorden Community College on Burnley Road originally opened in 1955 as a vocational training college and is now a multipurpose community space. The venue is wheelchair accessible with an accessible toilet and is within walking distance of the town centre.

Fielden Centre

Fielden Centre, also known as Fielden Hall is a beautiful Grade II listed Victorian building adjoining Centre Vale Park in Todmorden. The former art school became the Fielden Centre when it was bought and restored by a private trust in the 1990s. Calder Valley Community Land Trust was gifted ownership of Fielden Hall in 2017. The building continues to be managed by the Fielden Centre Association.

 

Fielden Hall has level access and an accessible toilet. Parking is available for about 30 cars in the grounds.

Central Methodist Church

The present Methodist Church in Todmorden was built in 1906. The church is fully accessible to people with reduced mobility and has lift access to the upper floor.

Unitarian Church

Honey Hole Road, Todmorden OL14 6LE

 

The beautiful 19th century gothic revival church is a Grade 1 listed building that stands in an elevated position overlooking Todmorden. The church is approximately 10 minutes walk from the town centre and has limited parking for disabled drivers. The venue is fully wheelchair accessible.

Roomfield Baptist Church

Roomfield Baptist Church is a small church, a few minutes walk from the town centre. The present Roomfield Baptist Church dates from 1962 and was built on the site of the original chapel completed in 1876 and demolished in 1954. The building is fully adapted with level access.

Kava

Kava is an independent coffee house, vegetarian restaurant and host to Wednesday Writers’ regular open mic nights. Kava is a short walk from the railway station and the market. Free car parking is available to the rear of the building in Oxford Street car park.
